Interview starts at 31:00
Theo Fleury joins us to chat about recovery from addiction and alcoholism, playing hockey in the NHL, and his book “Playing With Fire”. Theo has been clean and sober for 14 years and through his personal struggles managed to be one of the best NHL players, winning the World Juniors, The Olympic Gold and The Stanley Cup.
We chat about various recovery modalities, connecting with spirit and native ceremony, sweat lodges, advice for hockey kids and parents, and relapse. We also discuss playing hard out of guilt, being athletically orientated, trauma and mental illness, and advice for players with substance abuse problems. The Truth will set you free.
In the intro we chat about our first official narrated audio book “Song of the Immortal Beloved” on audible, and some of the books in the black budget feed as well. Join us on Dec 21st for the holiday Fandango. We should be live and taking calls with our podcasting buddies. Also check out the Recovery Dharma book in our normal feed for free. See links at very bottom for support and to access the black budget.
